Dreams (Day 579)

Hi all!

Happy Tuesday (even though it's inching closer and closer to the end of it)! How are you all doing today? It was a very cold and dreary day here. Sorry this post is coming so late but honestly this morning, I had nothing to talk about. But this afternoon a topic finally hit me. Today I am going to talk about dreams. I'm not sure why I have this yearning to talk about dreams but it's what is on my heart today.

We all have them. Many times they change throughout our life, I know mine have. We have dreams for our family, love life, career, the list could go on and on. Let me give you some examples.

Before
Family
I wanted to get married to the man of my dreams (a complete different dream than I have now). We'd have two kids, a boy and a girl. Live in a small town with an average house. Our kids would be smart, creative, musical, athletic, and ultimately happy.

Love
I wanted to marry this perfect man. He would be smart, musical (singing), funny, caring, romantic, sweet, family-oriented, tall, dark hair, blue eyes, older than me, all-American kinda boy. You get my drift.

Career
I really wanted to be an elementary school teacher (my mother is one) while growing up. Then I wanted to go into a medical field of some sort during my middle school and high school. But then for a short time after high school I had no idea what I wanted to do with my life. And finally I decided on marketing, but obviously that didn't last. :)

Now
Family
I do still want to get married to my dream man (working on that one). But now I want to have 4 kids, 2 girls and 2 boys, or however many God wants to bless me with. We'll live in a bigger city and have a beautiful home. Our kids will still be all the things I hoped for before, and they will be so much more. I will love them no matter what they choose to do for a living or for whoever they choose to love. They will be cultured and brought up well, learning the difference between right and wrong.

Love
I still want to marry a perfect man, but he doesn't exist. But I will marry a man who has flaws, yet is still perfect for me. Abid is that man. But hey, it could be Darren Criss as well. If he came knockin on my door, I wouldn't be upset. *hint hint Darren* See, how gorgeous is he? And yes, I realize the picture I chose may not be the most attractive one of him that there is, but I love it because it shows his fun-loving and dorky nature. :)

My dream man has a lot of the qualities I wanted then but so many more things. He is smart, musical, funny, caring, romantic, sweet, family-oriented, outgoing, courageous, dark hair, beautiful eyes and smile, average to thin build, average height, can speak a foreign language, and is not an all-American kinda boy (the opposite actually).

Career
My dream is to be none of the things that I said before. I will become a Marriage and Family Therapist and I will make an impact on people's lives. Becoming a counselor is something that I cannot wait for, there is a ton of hard work involved to become one but it will be worth it.

As you can see dreams can change. Almost everything for me has changed from childhood to adulthood. My ideal family has changed. My ideal man has changed somewhat. My career has changed. I now want a fancier big city life, full of culture, unconditional love, laughs, and so much more.

What I'm really trying to say is follow your dreams no matter what. Never let anyone tell you that you can't accomplish your dreams. If you set your mind to it, you can do anything. You will accomplish great things. Just remember this:

Never give up on something that you're dreaming about, if you try, amazing things could happen. Keep trying, no matter how much adversity you face. It will all be worth it in the end. I will leave you with that. So until next time.

Yearning of my Heart

Hi all!

It's my second post today... this doesn't happen very often. But I'm feeling very passionate about something, I've been posting about it for the past two days. I'm such an emotional wreck about it. I don't feel hungry (and yes, I'm still eating), I'm not thirsty, all I want to do is go outside and walk (no matter the time), listen to music, it's causing me headaches, I just feel down right upset most of the time. I really want to just cry all the time.

All these dreams that I have in my heart are eating at me, I want to accomplish big things. Help change people's lives. Travel the world. Experience other cultures and live with them. Be married to the man of my dreams. Earn my Master's degree and graduate with high honors. Become a successful Marriage and Family Therapist (by successful I mean, knowing what to say to help and heal families). Maybe have my own practice. Start a family with Abid. Move to a different part of the country. Really experience life and live it to the fullest.

God wouldn't give me these dreams for no reason, I know that I need to live them out. But I don't know how to. My prayer is that God shows me how I can begin living out my dreams and that He will use me in amazing ways. Deep down inside, I know that God is using me now, but I want to be doing more. Typically I am a patient person, but with this it just seems different. I'm yearning for so much more than what I'm doing right now. And yeah, I realize that my dreams will take time. I can't earn my Master's overnight or open my own practice tomorrow or become a successful therapist right away. But I am going to try and embrace life and live it to the fullest now. And I am going to be traveling soon, it's just within the US, but it's better than nothing. I'm going to Texas, I've never been there before, and I plan to enjoy every minute of it and experience as much as I can.

Time for a little prayer: Lord, please still my heart. Help me to accomplish everything I have ever dreamed and more. I know you didn't give me these ambitions and dreams for no reason, so please show me your will for my life. Amen....

Sorry for my little rant, but I've felt so passionate about this lately. I would really appreciate any thoughts and prayers about this. I need guidance in this. I need to see God's will. I pray He reveals it to me.

Until next time.

Living out Your Dreams and Darren Criss :) (Day 550)

Hi all!

Happy Monday! How is everyone doing today? It's a new week, time to start fresh and make great things happen! What are you going to do to make today great? I'm feeling really inspired today, yet frustrated and questioning things. Wondering how to accomplish the things that are inspiring me.

I want to talk about something I've been thinking about lately, but especially this morning. Currently, I just feel like my life hasn't actually started yet. I know that I was created for so much more than I am doing now. It seems like I'm still waiting for my real life to start. My dreams are so much higher than what I have now. I want to travel the world, help people, get married (working on that), have amazing experiences, and most importantly give God all the glory for everything I do. Right now I feel stuck in a rut, doing the same things from day to day. Not really accomplishing much, just getting by. I have this yearning to live in another country for a short time, be connected in a culture other than my own (that's hard to do when you have very little money, though). I've never really felt at home here, ever. God has placed all of these dreams in my heart and I want to live them out. But the question is, how? It frustrates me to the core, I want to be doing all the things I've dreamed of doing (and yes, one of those things is actually being with Abid). Part of me really just wants Abid and I to go to some random country and live for like 6 months or a year. Just experiencing life together and experiencing another culture. So if anyone would like to fund an experience like that, I would appreciate it. ;)

I had a great workout this morning/afternoon. 40 minutes of walking, it was more intense today because I was rocking out to my awesome Darren Criss Pandora station. Yes, Darren Criss really is my obsession right now. :) Either way, I got my workout in. I'm currently on week 4 of 5 of my 5K walking training program. By next week, I'll have walked my first 5K! Eek! :)

Oh and this is just another reason why I love Darren Criss so much. The video is a few years old, but he does Disney covers!?! This one is from Mulan (my absolutely favorite Disney movie), plus he's done songs from Beauty and the Beast, Little Mermaid, and the Duck Tales theme song. Seriously, this man just needs to marry me right now. :) Oh but you have to check out his version of Part of Your World from the Little Mermaid, it's amazing! Not to mention that he writes his own music, he's just amazing in general. Enjoy the video below. :)

I'll be honest, listening to his music has really inspired me. I'm not expecting to become famous or meet famous people or anything like that. But I won't put anything past God, He can do great things. And hey, every person had to start somewhere, they put themselves out there and made something great of themselves. Who knows, someday I could become this really famous Marriage and Family Therapist, writing books and doing amazing things. All I know is that I'm inspired and I want to live out my dreams. My prayer is that God will use me in amazing ways in the near and distant future.

I suppose, this post is long enough already. So until next time all.
